Today we have a guest post from my friend Sam who runs the Ways To Get Rid of Spots Blog.

Getting rid of pimples is never an easy process, but it’s made especially difficult if you have to get clear skin, FAST. Nothing is more frustrating than having an important date, meeting, or event, and then having to contend with an unsightly pimple on your face.

That’s why you need to know these ten awesome ways to get rid of spots overnight:

1. Apply ice to the spot – This will help “cool down” the pimple and make it less noticeable. You should apply ice once every couple of hours for a few minutes, but remember to wrap the ice in something like paper towels first (so as not to burn your skin)

2. Use lemon juice to ‘zap’ spots overnight – The juice from a freshly squeezed lemon is a powerful astringent that will help to dry out pimples quickly. Apply it using a cotton wool ball, or something similar.

3. Avoid squeezing your pimples – This will probably lead to them becoming more inflamed and they will actually look worse.

4. Cover up with clothing – Although this could be considered “cheating” somewhat, there is nothing wrong with wearing say a shirt with a high collar if you have spots on your neck. However, this is not always practical (you can’t wear a ski mask all day can you?)

5. Cover up with makeup – This is much easier for women, and is probably the most effective way of hiding pimples in a short space of time. However, there are some concealer products that guys can get away with using too.

6. Apply red eye drops to the pimple – Red eye drops actually have the effect of soothing the redness that accompanies pimples. This can hide a nasty spot very effectively.

7. Use benzoyl peroxide – This is a common over-the-counter acne remedy that is very effective at quickly drying up pimples It can be purchased in a variety of concentrations, but 5% or 10% is probably your best bet if you need to clear up a pimple overnight.

8. Take a trip to the sauna – An effective way to get rid of spots overnight is to actually sweat them out in the sauna. What this can do is result in whiteheads forming more quickly, meaning that the pimples can be dried out easier. However, too much of this kind of treatment can actually lead to worse spots, so you need to start off slowly.

9. Get some sun on your skin – UV rays are very good at soothing acne (in small enough doses so as not to cause sunburn) If you don’t live somewhere sunny then visit a local tanning bed or solarium, but just avoid getting properly burned!

10. Stop worrying about your spots – Although this won’t actually help them disappear overnight, it will make you feel more confident and less worried about them. Remember that acne is a normal condition, and billions of people around the world have it. Nobody is going to think twice about a few spots on your face.

The above ten ways to get rid of spots overnight are all very effective, and if used properly you will see a definite reduction in acne symptoms in a short period of time. One of the most important things to remember is that you need to avoid aggrivating spots if you want to get rid of them quickly; this means you shouldn’t pick or scratch at them!
